Agro Sevilla strengthens its presence in the Arabian market at Gulfood

Last month Agro Sevilla took part in Gulfood, considered the most important professional event in the arabic agro-alimentary market, held once again in the International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Dubai. As in previous editions, Agro Sevilla took part in this trade fair with its own stand.

Within the intense international agenda of Agro Sevilla in 2020, this important  encounter showcased our range of products and brands, presented areas of innovation and recent trends, as well as implementing a comprehensive program of business meetings with a view to strengthening, even further, Agro Sevilla’s presence in the arabian market. On this occasion, Alfonso de la Torre, area sales manager for the middle east & Africa, Alfredo Martín, our Commercial Director and  Julio Roda, Managing Director of the company travelled to the trade fair. There were days of hard work and effort, with the goal of conveying to our clients the reality our land and our growers have experienced this year.

Gulfood celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. Under the slogan "Rethinking food", the trade show explored all paths leading to innovation in a food industry undergoing constant change. More than 100.000 visitors from 200 countries attended the World Trade Centre in Dubai. In its almost 900 thousand square meters around 5.000 exhibitors came together, distributed among 120 halls. 

Agro Sevilla in the middle east 

Agro Sevilla enjoys an excellent position in the arabian market. The global leadership of Agro Sevilla as the leading producer and exporter of table olives is faithfully reflected among arabic consumers, to the point of identifying the product itself, the Spanish olive, with our most recognisable brand in that market: Coopoliva. Our Coopoliva brand has gained a market share of more than 50% in countries such as Saudi Arabia. That is to say, more than half of olives consumed in the Middle East are Coopoliva. 

Agro Sevilla’ exports to these countries make up 20% of the total global exports of the company. Also, Agro Sevilla’s olives represent 37% of total Spanish olive exports to the Middle East, which constitutes a considerable cuota.
