Other trade fairs where Andalusia excels
There are many Andalusian treasures that attract the world's attention, such as its natural and artistic heritage, or its history and traditions, some of which can be seen at this time of year in the form of fairs and pilgrimages. However, the wealth of Andalusia can also be found in its produce: for example the olive, a universal product recognised worldwide for its quality. In fact, this is confirmed to us both by consumers of Agro Sevilla products in different markets, and the professional opinions that we find at the main trade fairs all over the world.
In Agro Sevilla we are very proud of contributing to the well-deserved prestige of this asset of our land. As the leading producer and exporter of table olives, Agro Sevilla is present in the most relevant agroalimentary events in the international calendar. And among the dates for this spring, the two big events we attended were two top-tier asian trade fairs: Foodex and Sial China.
Foodex was held in Tokyo in March, as it has been for 44 years. Over the course of 4 days, more than 85,000 attendees and exhibitors of 95 nationalities were able to strengthen commercial links at what is considered the biggest agro-alimentary trade fair in Asia. Agro Sevilla was present with a stand of its own and reinforced its good relations in the Japanese market through its commercial agent in Tokyo.
SIAL China took place in Shanghai from the 14th to the 16th of May, and Agro Sevilla had a stand there in the Spanish pavillion. Apart from the institutional visit to the stand organised by the Ministry of Agriculture and the Spanish embassy in China, during the trade fair Agro Sevilla arranged a variety of activities and events. For example, attendees visiting SIAL China could enjoy samples of our products at our stand, or the Show Cooking with Agro Sevilla Olives held in the Gastronomy Area at ICEX. This activity, with the participation of the chefs Sergio Montero, and Álvaro Villasante was a remarkable demonstration of the gastronomic possibilities of our olives.
