Agrosevilla awarded Gold Medal of Seville 2026 in the “Driving the Economy and Entrepreneurship” category

With a presence in more than 80 countries, Agrosevilla has become one of Seville’s leading economic ambassadors, showcasing the province’s leadership in the agri-food sector to international markets and strengthening its global competitiveness.

The Seville City Council has awarded Agrosevilla the 2026 Seville Gold Medal in the category of “Economic and Business Development,” a recognition through which the City Council highlights the company’s contribution to economic development, its deep roots in the region, and its commitment to a growth model linked to sustainable agriculture, innovation, and international outreach.

The award was presented at a ceremony held at FIBES as part of the City of Seville’s Honors and Distinctions program, through which the City Council annually recognizes the achievements and contributions of individuals, companies, and institutions to Seville’s economic, social, and cultural progress.

In the words of Gabriel Cabello, president of Agrosevilla: “Agrosevilla is a leading company in Seville’s business community and a benchmark in the agri-food sector, which for half a century has been carrying the name of Seville to more than 80 countries around the world. It is an honor to receive this distinction on behalf of the more than 5,000 farmers and 600 workers who are part of Agrosevilla today.”

Recognition of Economic Growth and the Cooperative Model

The award recognizes Agrosevilla as one of the leading players in the agri-food sector of Seville and Andalusia, as well as its contribution to creating value in rural areas, generating employment, and strengthening a cooperative model that has grown while maintaining its ties to the region and the primary sector.

In this regard, the City Council’s recognition also highlights Agrosevilla’s commitment to more sustainable and efficient agriculture, based on practices focused on the responsible use of resources, environmental protection, the continuous improvement of production processes, and the promotion of an increasingly responsible value chain. The company works alongside its cooperatives and farmers on a model that integrates traceability, quality, innovation, water and energy efficiency, the circular economy, and respect for biodiversity, with the goal of ensuring the sector’s competitiveness from a long-term perspective.

A Leading Andalusian Agri-Food Company

Furthermore, the City of Seville Medal recognizes Agrosevilla’s ability to promote the names of Seville and Andalusia in international markets, consolidating a global presence built on product quality, industry expertise, and a strategy of sustained growth. This international focus, combined with its strong cooperative foundation, has enabled the company to strengthen its international position and continue expanding opportunities for Andalusia’s agricultural sector in an increasingly demanding and competitive environment.

Founded as a cooperative of Andalusian olive-growing cooperatives, Agrosevilla has established itself as a global leader in the table olive sector and as one of Andalusia’s leading agri-food companies. Its model integrates work at the source, industrial processing, and international marketing, ensuring control over the entire value chain and a close connection between the countryside and the markets.

For Agrosevilla, this recognition serves as an endorsement of a growth model that combines business acumen, a commitment to rural communities, sustainability, and openness to the world, and reinforces its determination to continue advancing a cooperative project that contributes to Seville’s economic and social development through the agri-food sector.
