Agrosevilla has been honored at the 4th Andalucía ES Awards, presented by the Regional Ministry of Employment, Business, and Self-Employment of the Regional Government of Andalusia to recognize projects of excellence within the Andalusian social economy.
The LideraCoop program, developed by Agrosevilla and the Institute for Corporate Governance (IGE), has been awarded the Andalusian Regional Government’s 2025 Social Economy Award in the category “Award for the Best Project Carried Out by Women, for Women, or for Gender Equality,” which recognizes initiatives by social economy organizations that promote women’s empowerment, especially in sectors where women’s presence is limited.
The ceremony, presided over by Regional Minister Rocío Blanco, took place on Wednesday, November 26, at the headquarters of the Three Cultures Foundation in Seville and brought together cooperatives and organizations that have stood out for their economic, social, and sustainable impact in the region.
A Boost to Keep Moving Forward
Rosario Núñez, Director of Human Resources and Legal Affairs, and María Marín, Head of Communications and Sustainability at Agrosevilla, accepted the award, highlighting the role women have played in the cooperative industry.
In the words of Rosario Núñez, “In our cooperatives, women have always worked on the front lines: in the fields, in the offices, in manufacturing, and in exports. However, their presence on the Governing Boards did not reflect their actual influence. With LideraCoop, we have taken a firm first step toward changing that: identifying, preparing, and raising the profile of professionals who are more than qualified to take on strategic responsibilities. This recognition is for them.”
About LideraCoop
LideraCoop is an eight-month training program designed to prepare professional women in the cooperative sector to assume responsibilities on the Governing Boards and governing bodies of their cooperatives. Its curriculum combines specialized modules on governance, strategic management, finance for senior management, and leadership skills, along with mentoring sessions and networking opportunities that foster connections between participants and industry leaders.
The program began in March 2025 at the Osuna University School, bringing together a total of 16 participants from cooperatives in the Sierra Sur region of Seville. During the award ceremony, its transformative nature, inclusive approach, and contribution to women’s empowerment in a traditionally male-dominated sector were highlighted.
In addition, LideraCoop has a network of high-level mentors—professionals from various sectors who support the participants throughout the course, contributing their experience and knowledge to help them advance to leadership positions.
